THE ARCHIVE RELOADED

The Archive Reloaded unfolds across seven chapters, combining video and photography in a colourful, playful, and imaginative exploration of fashion. Moving images and still compositions create a distinctive visual universe in which shapes, textures, and silhouettes are reinterpreted through a vibrant and experimental aesthetic.
The videos were shot by Tania Alineri in close collaboration with video artist Tommaso Paoles. The sound installation was curated and coordinated by Alineri, with an original soundtrack by Filippo Temperini, accompanying the visual narrative and enhancing its atmosphere.
For the photographic series, the initial concept was developed in close collaboration with Sylvio Giardina, defining the project’s visual direction. Working closely with the photographer throughout the process, Alineri oversaw the art direction, with particular attention to composition, styling, and detail. The images extend the visual language of the videos into a cohesive photographic narrative, creating a dialogue between fashion, image-making, and visual experimentation. Custom-designed closing credits complete the film, reinforcing the project’s overall visual identity.

“Conceived during the isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic and presented in connection with Paris Fashion Week from January 25th to 28th, 2021, The Archive Reloaded is a project built around the idea of returning to the archive.
Seven couture garments from Sylvio Giardina’s previous collections were selected, deconstructed, and reassembled to create seven new looks. Divided into seven chapters, the project explores the transformation of existing forms and proportions while reflecting on the relationship between craftsmanship, continuity, and change. The project extended beyond the collection into photography, video, and music, developed through a book and a short film dedicated to the new creations.”
