The film translates the collection’s essence into an audiovisual narrative shaped by slow-motion sequences, reverse footage, and intentional image duplications, evoking fragmented memories and a suspended sense of time. The concept, screenplay, and direction were developed by Tania Alineri, who also supervised the editing process to ensure consistency between the initial vision and the final piece.
The sound installation was curated and coordinated by Tania Alineri, drawing on an extensive process of sound research, field recording, and experimentation. Everyday objects were selected for their sonic potential and explored through recording, sampling, and manipulation. The sound material was recorded and subsequently processed by Filippo Temperini, transforming familiar sounds into fluid, aquatic textures. Through layering and sound processing, these elements were shaped into an immersive soundscape that evokes the movement and depth of water, blurring the boundaries between the familiar and the abstract.

Originating from an initial concept by Sylvio Giardina, the art direction developed the collection’s visual identity through the careful definition of space, lighting, and image composition. The lighting setup was designed specifically for the shoot by Tania Alineri, shaping the atmosphere and the relationship between the garments, the body, and the surrounding environment. Working in close dialogue with the photographer throughout the process, the art direction guided the framing and presentation of each look, with continuous attention to detail and visual consistency. The result translates the original concept into a coherent photographic language, aligned with the film and the overall identity of the collection.

“For the Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture collection, Sylvio Giardina develops the concept of Reverse as a way of revisiting the past through a contemporary perspective. The five-look collection draws from elements of the designer’s early work, Japanese avant-garde design, and the visual culture of the 1980s. Reversed proportions, asymmetrical silhouettes, layered fabrics, and sculptural details reinterpret these references through a new visual language.”
