Villa Gregoriana — Tivoli

Concept · Art Direction · Photographer
The project encompasses the complete creative development of the Haute Couture 2022/23 Autumn-Winter collection, spanning from the initial concept definition in close relation to the garments, to the comprehensive art direction, video direction, and sound curation specifically tailored to enhance the seasonal narrative.
For this collection, the scenography chooses the historic landscape of Villa Gregoriana in Tivoli, a park protected by FAI. The visual narrative captures seven outfits transformed into the chapters of a book, outlining an imaginary dialogue with nature where the perception of the place, structural deconstruction, and a sophisticated avant-garde poetic language transcend the seriality of ephemeral fashion trends.
“For the Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2022/23 collection, Sylvio Giardina presents seven looks within the landscape of Villa Gregoriana in Tivoli, creating a visual relationship between the garments and the surrounding environment. The collection explores the relationship between the body, fabric, and structure through sculptural forms, deconstructed lace, pleats, and distressed textures. Black and white form the main colour palette, while details such as raw-cut lace, patchwork, velvet ribbons, draped tulle, geometric lines, and the sculptural hood define the garments. The collection was photographed within the park, using its rocky landscape and natural elements as part of the visual setting.”
