The art direction and script develop the video around the three stages of the restoration: Ante operam, documenting the tomb before the intervention; In operam, following the restoration process; and Post operam, showing the monument after the work was completed.

The direction was developed from the initial site inspections and the practical requirements of documenting the restoration. The filming follows the different phases of the work, while the editing, developed in collaboration with the video editor, organizes the material into a clear chronological narrative.

“Archeometra is the technical sponsor for the restoration and enhancement project of the Sepulchre of Gaio Publicio Bibulo, an intervention managed by the Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali. The monument required urgent restoration to restore its readability and decorum, given its central and prominent position in the heart of Rome. The project contributes to the enhancement of a unique historical-archaeological heritage: the remains of the Sepulchre of G.P. Bibulo, located at the foot of the Capitoline Hill, represent a rare example of a public funerary monument dating back to the Republican age.”
