Sylvio Giardina Haute Couture FW24/25
Tania Alineri
Art Direction
The visual narrative unfolds across the Sardinian landscape, focusing on a single human figure within its distinctive and otherworldly environments. The art direction explores the relationship between the garments, the silhouette, and the surrounding landscape, developing a visual language that reflects the character of the collection.
Working closely with Sylvio Giardina and artistic duo Lucio Aru and Franco Erre, the process involved selecting shooting locations for their distinctive visual qualities. On set, the art direction extended to makeup supervision, accessory selection, and the careful definition of framing and garment presentation. Continuous dialogue between the creative team and close attention to detail ensured a cohesive visual outcome, allowing the shooting to evolve in response to the locations and conditions on site.
“The 1962 Haute Couture collection explores the relationship between sculpture, the body, and textile through structured silhouettes, soft draping, and three-dimensional details. The palette combines black and white with touches of peach, fuchsia, and aqua green. Mikado silk, gazar, organza, chiffon, and jewel-encrusted nets are combined with metal, plexiglass, and crystal, creating contrasts between rigid and fluid forms. The collection brings together traditional couture techniques and contemporary materials, with handcrafted details shaping the garments.”
